Tres leches cake, also called pan tres leches, is a sponge cake—soaked in three types of milk: evaporated milk, condensed milk, and whole milk. Tres leches is a very light cake, with lots of air bubbles. The different texture is why it doesn't have a moist consistency even when soaked in a mixture of three types of milk
